This illustration is inspired by Japanese folktales , the fight between Ushiwaka ( 牛若丸 ) & Benkei (西塔武蔵坊弁慶 ) at Gōjō Bridge in Kyoto .

I had changed it to a guitar fight and replaced Benkei with Gene Simmons.
( from Rock Band, KISS).

" A fight to become the NO.1 Guitarist." :lol:

*This illustration will be exhibited in FIDI space 台北市武昌街二段89號地下一樓 豪華戲院in89 (Ximen, Taipei) from April 10th to May 3th , 2009 for BU X HI 2 exhibition.

lol the KISS benkei cracks me up. This is one of the stories I love. As for your style you've done a wonderful job making a modern version of such an old style. My only concern is the "darkness" I guess. I don't know if it would look just as good if it were brighter but it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
